Quetzal is built by a team whose background combines field safety and EHS, emergency response, disaster-risk reduction, environmental systems and risk analysis. That practical foundation is why we build for how these decisions are really made: tools that help organisations understand cascading risks, dependencies and consequences, rather than software that looks convincing in a demo.
The operational gap.
Most organisations already hold the pieces: hazard maps, asset registers, continuity plans. What they rarely have is the picture that connects them, and cascading risk hides in exactly that gap.
Hazards live apart from assets
Hazard maps, asset registers and continuity plans sit in different tools, so no single view shows what a hazard actually reaches.
Exposure is only the first question
Teams can see what is directly hit. What they need is the indirect consequence: the service that fails two steps later.
Registers list, systems depend
Infrastructure and public services are interdependent. An asset-by-asset inventory cannot show the dependency that decides the outcome.
A map should explain, not only display
Layers stacked on a basemap show where things are. The useful map explains what happens to the rest when one of them fails.
Assumptions have to be auditable
Decision-makers cannot act on a score they can't question. The logic behind a result has to be transparent and traceable.
Prioritisation happens under uncertainty
The real task is choosing what to reinforce or pre-empt first, with incomplete data and limited time. That needs structured discussion, not a verdict.

The three founders trained in health, safety and environment in Bordeaux, then in disaster-risk reduction and resilience at National Taiwan University: European safety practice joined to field experience where earthquakes and typhoons are part of the calendar. The workflows Aegis automates are workflows we have run ourselves, for governments, industry and research institutions.

Aegis supports structured scenario assessment and expert judgment. We do not claim autonomous prediction or real-time command of an event.
Practitioner-led development
Design partners and field discovery set the roadmap. We build what an operations room, an EHS team or a planning department will actually use.
Lead with the finding
The conclusion first, the framing after, engineered against the alarm fatigue that gets risk tools muted before the real event.
Where we are, honestly: Aegis is in active development with its first design partners. We do not claim deployed government clients or audited outcome metrics yet. When we have them, they'll be on this site with sources attached.

The company and the method behind the product. Quetzal's approach is to make complex risk relationships visible, explainable and useful to the teams who answer for the consequences. Deliberately early, and shaped in conversation with the practitioners who will use it.
Aegis · the engine
The current engine and interface: it models a territory or site as a system, assesses initiating events on the real map, traces dependencies between assets, and ranks what deserves attention, with every link auditable back to a rule.
Aegis is the first interface through which the method becomes usable. It is the present focus, not the limit of the company. As the platform develops, Quetzal can extend into additional models, modules and decision-support tools built around the same principle: making complex risk relationships legible and actionable.
